Massage- Important Information
- MASSAGE THERAPY: Incorporates various ranges of pressure. Please
note: depending on the clients' needs/requests, there may be
temporary soreness with some of the deeper modalities. Each massage
therapist will use a variety of massage therapy applications,
variations, and techniques during the massage session to meet the
individual needs of each client.
- SWEDISH: Traditional European relaxation massage. This treatment
is designed to improve circulation & flexibility, relieve muscle
tension, increase energy flow & reduce stress.
- DEEP TISSUE or Trigger Point: A therapeutic massage technique that
releases aches, pain & tension in specific areas of chronic
discomfort. This massage involves deep pressure that runs across the
muscles to decompress & lengthen muscle groups.
- SPORTS MASSAGE: Decompresses & lengthens the muscles, tendons,
& other connective tissues by combining high-impact massage
techniques & assisted stretches to relieve acute muscle
soreness, improve flexibility & increase range of motion.
- PREGNANCY MASSAGE: Modified Swedish-style, designed to alleviate
added tension on the shoulders, back, legs, & feet while
maintaining the skin’s elasticity & assisting with water
retention. Doctor’s approval is required.
- MYOFASCIAL RELEASE: Myofascial Release is a very effective
hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into Myofascial
restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Myofascial
Release techniques are generally a mild and gentle form of
stretching that have a profound effect upon the body tissues. The
theory of Myofascial Release requires an understanding of the
fascial system (or connective tissue). Fascia surrounds every other
tissue and organ of the body, including nerves, vessels, muscle and
bone. The fascial system is actually one structure that exists from
head to foot without interruption. In this way you can begin to see
that each part of the entire body is connected to every other part
by the fascia.
